- Recognise common yacht-anchor geometries and evaluate the complete installed anchor, rode, fittings and recovery arrangement without assuming one design is best everywhere.
- Brief, lower, lay and set an anchor under control, calculate a starting cable length from maximum bow-to-seabed depth, and verify the result with more than one position cue.
