Other Marks

Isolated Danger marks sit directly over a small hazard with navigable water around them. They are black with red horizontal band(s), top mark of two black spheres, and show a group of 2 white flashes.

Safe Water marks indicate navigable water all around — often used as a landfall or fairway buoy. They have red and white vertical stripes, a single red sphere top mark, and show a single long white flash (isophase, occulting, or Morse 'A').

Special marks are yellow and indicate areas like military exercise zones, outfall pipes, or cables. Their shape varies and they show yellow lights if lit.
